Poetry in Transit, an award-winning program that showcases poems on Luzerne County buses, is currently accepting submissions for the 2020-2021 season. Submissions are open to any writer, regardless of age or location. The submission deadline is Friday, May 8.
This year’s poem theme is “Change.” Authors are invited to examine the concept in any way. Poems must be six lines or less. The committee asks that submissions avoid profanity, outright political messages, or religious statements. Any language, if accompanied by an English translation, will be accepted. The competition is limited to three submissions per author.
Winning submissions will be chosen by an advisory board of writers and faculty from area colleges. Selected poems will be featured on advertising displays inside Luzerne County Transportation Authority (LCTA) buses from August 2020 to July 2021.
