Loosely modeled after London’s Poems on the Underground, Poetry in Transit uses space inside all LCTA buses to display verse by local writers.
Poetry in Transit’s goal is to foster a contemplative, positive attitude among our communities. Writers who otherwise would not know each other discover a common vision. Local residents gain access to poetry in a space where poetry wouldn’t normally be read. The goal is to demonstrate what art can do at its best: celebrate our common humanity! The beloved Poetry in Transit program is celebrating its thirteenth year as a community arts project.
Showcasing the voices and works of a diverse group of writers from NEPA and beyond, this year’s collection investigates the idea of small. The collection includes poems by the following writers:
Jenica Lodde
Janine P. Dubik
Rob Burnside
Jill Patton
Kristen Ivey
Brianna Schunk
