Loosely modeled after London’s Poems on the Underground, Poetry in Transit uses space inside all LCTA buses to display verse by local writers.

Poetry in Transit’s goal is to foster a contemplative, positive attitude among our communities.  Writers who otherwise would not know each other discover a common vision.  Local residents gain access to poetry in a space where poetry wouldn’t normally be read.  The goal is to demonstrate what art can do at its best: celebrate our common humanity!    The beloved Poetry in Transit program is celebrating its thirteenth year as a community arts project.

Showcasing the voices and works of a diverse group of writers from NEPA and beyond, this year’s collection investigates the idea of small.  The collection includes poems by the following writers:
